Hi there! Welcome to the site - thanks for visiting & for all support & donations. What a tremendous trip to The Great Wall. Great group too. If there's anything you'd like to know, please get in touch. Have a really great day!
Fundraising - Autumn 2007 to Summer 2008 - extended due to great encouragement & support, thank you :)
Thank you to various media in Asia for covering this trek for cancer research, thereby helping raise awareness for the cause. Hugely appreciated.
As a result, I've received phone calls, letters & emails from strangers encouraging me along. One lady phoned me straight after first radio interview and asked how she could make a donation (she'd lost her sister also).
One chap who'd seen an article in daily newspaper googled me, said he now felt inspired to so something for cancer research, having lost 2 very close family members to cancer. We have since met up!
Thank you to everyone who's contacted me. It really means a lot. :) The beautiful letter I received from a businessman (someone else I didn't know) shortly after completing the trek with lovely words about my sister & words of support for what I've been working on... is something I'll treasure forever. Thank you.
Other people who've been affected by cancer have said they want to do something also.
The power of media...Especially the closing words of the Editor of 'Britain in Hong Kong' (magazine of British Chamber of Commerce)...see below...
Including media coverage here for sponsors & supporters, the P.R. students at City University (thank you for inviting me in) & for mum!
p.s. City Uni students - it was great to meet you & I appreciated subsequent text messages. :) Jacky, Carmen, Joey & Anthony - good on you for volunteering for the 'special' project. Wishing you all the best for that. You'll do incredibly well, I know. Thank you.
